Fantasy

When I looked at the list of the top genres I saw Fantasy as the 2nd one. I lovemovies but don't pay any attention to genres. So obviously my first thought was what in the world is Fantasy. I don't know how many of you know what fantasy is but when I first pulled up the top ten fantasy movies of all time I was completely in sync with what they meant. I'm going to say that all of you know exactly what I'm talking about when I say movies like... Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. I felt pretty stupid but now that I have the type of movies out of the way I can move on with this blog.

Fantasy, when I say this I think out of any reality and fun to think about but very unrealistic. Watching movies like this make me oo and aww because it is so fun to see what people come up with and put on paper. It's like a dream put on the screen. Many people have different thoughts with these types of movies. I say Star Wars and many people think dorky or not a good movie at all. Some on the other hand who grew up watching it or just love the movie thinks it is a fantastic display of talent. If you want to get away from this reality and just go somewhere people go to fantasy movies or books.

I pulled up the 50 best fantasy Movies of all time and as I said before "Star Wars" was number one and "Lord of the Rings" was two three and five on the list. Other movies that are fairly recent are: "Green Mile, Wizard of Oz, Toy story and Toy story Two, Big Fish, King Kong and Pirates of the Caribbean".
I would not classify the "Green Mile" as a fantasy but more of a drama. It is a fantastic movie about the relationship between a man condemned to death by a wrongful trial and the guard who is in charge of him. I can kind of see this maybe because it gets you out of reality because you get so wrapped up in the story line you forget about reality for that two hour segment.

"Big Fish" is very much a fantasy movie. I have seen it and did not like it much at all. I thought it was way to out there to even be able to imagine, andit's story line was all over the place and hard to follow. Many I have talked to have seen it and thought it was wonderful so I guess it is very much an opinion movie. It fits the name fantasy very well.

"Pirates of the Caribbean" is beyond anything that is out there today. It is a story most people have heard and fell in love with. It has romance, treason, battle scenes and so much action. They have tons of twist in these movies and exceptional actors that do so much to the story line. If you haven't seen this and want to know what fantasy movies should have in them this is the movie to see.
